Grady Announces New Foundation President

November 15, 2018

The Grady Health System announced today that Joselyn Butler Baker will serve as the new President of the Grady Health Foundation, effective December 3.  In this capacity, she will be responsible for leading efforts to build private and philanthropic support for the Grady Health System.

“Grady is fortunate to enjoy the support of many public and private leaders throughout the region we serve.  Joselyn’s extensive experience and relationships in the Atlanta community and throughout the state will allow us to build upon that support,” commented Grady Health System president and CEO John Haupert.  “As we become a hospital of choice for more patients, while still fulfilling our mission to serve the most vulnerable, our financial needs will continue to grow.  As a result, the Foundation will continue to play a key role in shaping the health system’s future.”

A highly-regarded consultant and strategist, Baker currently works with clients in the health care, transportation, education and conservation arenas, including the Grady Health Foundation for which she led the successful launch of a new fundraising event, VeloCity, earlier this year.  Prior to going into business for herself in 2015, she served as Senior Vice President for External Affairs at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Assistant General Manager for Communications at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and Press Secretary to Governor Roy Barnes.  Her background also includes key roles with United States Senator Johnny Isakson and former Governor Zell Miller.
