Why Choose Grady's Radiography Program

Grady’s School of Radiologic Technology is Georgia’s oldest radiography training program. Whether you are changing careers or just starting – our experienced instructors are committed to ensuring you have the knowledge, skills, and professional values to reach your goals.

Radiologic Technologists are imaging professionals that use x-rays to produce a diagnostic image of the body. These images are essential to diagnosing and treating patients, and these skills are in high demand in hospitals and outpatient centers.

Our program is a 23-month, 40-hour-per-week, certificate program. We are accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) – the gold standard for imaging programs.

Classes and clinical education are scheduled typically Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and do not exceed 40 hours weekly. New cohorts of students begin each year in August.

Radiography students receive classroom and clinical instruction at Grady and other clinical affiliates. Grady is Atlanta’s only nationally accredited Level I trauma center – learning the latest digital imaging technology in various medical settings.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam and become registered radiologic technologists (radiographers) or R.T. (R)(ARRT). Many continue their education at Grady in advanced imaging modalities, like CT, Mammography, MRI, Ultrasound, and Radiation Therapy.

We are committed to educating student radiographers in the art and science of medical imaging.
