Dr. Ohuabunwa graduated from the University of Port Harcourt in Choba, Nigeria, and received her MD/MBBS from the University of Port Harcourt in Choba, Nigeria. Dr. Ohuabunwa completed her residency training at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, and Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her geriatrics fellowship training at the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Ohuabunwa is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She is also board-certified in Dermato-Venerology and Internal Medicine by the Medical College of Physicians of Nigeria. She serves as Chief of Geriatrics at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Ohuabunwa is a GACA awardee and is actively involved in interdisciplinary educational activities, with a primary focus on the hospitalization of older adults and care transitions. Her teaching activities involve multiple levels of learners including physician assistants and medical students, medical and pharmacy residents and fellows, and in addition interdisciplinary hospital staff including pharmacists, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, case managers, and social workers,
