Dr. Tricia Smith was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica and completed medical training at the University of the West Indies. She did her residency in emergency medicine at the University of Connecticut after completing her MPH at Harvard University and working for a year in human rights. Her professional interests include heart failure in the emergency department, ultrasound in low-resource settings, the development of emergency medicine worldwide, scientific writing and publishing, and women in leadership.
