Dr. Summer Okimoto, DNP, CNM, is a Texas Native who graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Dr. Okimoto worked as a labor and delivery nurse for nine years and served as a medical missionary overseas. Her experiences providing care for women and their families nationally and internationally ignited a desire in her heart to strengthen her global commitment to women’s health by becoming a certified nurse-midwife (CNM).
In 2010, Okimoto graduated from the first Nurse-Midwifery/Doctor of Nursing Practice (NM/DNP) program at Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (BULHSON).
Okimoto is passionate about seeing women empowered to make educated decisions. She enjoys providing evidence-based, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care to women and their families.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, church community, traveling, cooking, photography and participating in barre fitness.
