Dr. Faiz U. Ahmad, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, as well as Director of Spinal Neurosurgery and Neuro-trauma at Grady Health System. His specialty interests include minimally invasive methods of treating spinal disorders, treatment of spinal tumors, artificial cervical disc replacement, use of computer-assisted navigation techniques in spinal surgery, complex spinal reconstruction surgery and spinal cord injury. Dr. Ahmad is also a prolific researcher, contributing over 200 peer reviewed papers, book chapters, abstracts and oral presentations. His research interests include spinal injury, minimally invasive neurosurgery and traumatic brain injury. He also serves as an editor and reviewer for several national and international peer-reviewed neurosurgical journals, as well as on several national and regional neurosurgery committees. Dr. Ahmad completed his neurosurgical residency and two fellowships, including a complex spinal surgery fellowship, at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
