Grady Introduces Its New Heart and Vascular Center
February 1, 2022
To more accurately reflect the depth of services available, Grady Health System has renamed its cardiac center. The new Grady Heart and Vascular Center is the realization of the health system’s commitment to the growth of its cardiovascular services to meet the many needs of its patients. As Atlanta’s busiest Level I Trauma Center and STEMI Receiving Center, Grady provides intensive medical and surgical care, as well as specialized tests and interventional therapies.
“Grady is dedicated to continuously finding ways to better serve our patients who require the best heart and vascular care,” said Annie Cheek, Vice President Heart and Vascular Services. “Every advancement we make helps us save more lives.”
Grady was the first in Georgia to implement robotic technology to help surgeons perform coronary interventions in its newest catheterization lab. The technology provides an advanced level of precision, and cardiologists can now create more exact stent placements and measurements than ever before. This technology, along with expanded cardiac testing space and a hybrid operating room, is how Grady utilizes innovation to improve care for heart and vascular patients.
A nationally recognized leader in heart failure care, Grady received the 2021 American Heart Association’s Gold Plus Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Quality Achievement Award.
“As a leader in heart and vascular services in the Southeast, Grady’s priority is to reimagine how we provide cutting-edge care to our patients,” said Shannon Sale, Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer. “These developments make that a reality and help streamline the care process for our patients and providers.”
Located in Grady Memorial Hospital, the consolidation of services in the center will yield greater collaboration between providers and help deliver services more efficiently, further refining the care experience for patients.
