Support for Family Members
About ARROW
Achieving Recovery through Resilience, Optimism, and Wellness (ARROW) is a specialized program for young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 who are having unusual or strange experiences for the first time. As a parent or guardian of a young adult experiencing these signs and symptoms – ARROW can help you find the best treatment options. Our ultimate goal is to help your young person get back to school, get a job, develop relationships, and live their best lives.
Signs and Symptoms
The following is a list of some of the signs and symptoms that we target in our services. Every person’s experience is different but if you know of a young adult experiencing these signs or symptoms for no more than two years, ARROW may be right for them.
- Hearing voices or seeing things that others do not
- Feeling suspicious or paranoid
- Having difficulties at work or school
- Feeling very irritable or upset
- Withdrawing from others
- Having confusing thoughts or speech
- Needing much less or much more sleep
- Changes in mood
- Behaving in impulsive ways
Connect With Us
Remember recovery is possible! It’s important to receive treatment as early as possible. Though reaching out for help the first time can be overwhelming and intimidating, our team is ready to make the process as easy as possible.
One way to contact our team is to fill out the online Find Care and Resources form. Once received, one of our team members will contact you to tell you more about the program and hear more about your experiences to see if it could be right for you. After speaking over the phone, we will then set up a time to meet with your young adult.

Your Team
The following individuals are all part of the team at ARROW. Depending on what your young adult’s needs and preferences are, they may work with some team members more than others or at different times in your recovery journey.
- Team Lead – The team lead helps to supervise all the services you receive at ARROW. In addition, the team lead offers individual talk therapy and family therapy for our program participants.
- Transitions Coach – Your transitions coach coordinates your services at ARROW but also coordinates the services you receive in the community. They provide support on everything from healthcare to housing and transportation needs.
- Supported Employment and Education Specialist – Our support employment and education specialist is dedicated to helping you every step of the way in school and work. Our specialist helps young people wherever they are in school or work. Whether you need support going back to school or getting a new job, or need support with your current classes and work schedule, this team member is here to help.
- Peer Specialist – Here at ARROW we value the voices of those who have experienced mental illness and strive to incorporate that voice into every aspect of our program. Our peer specialist uses personal lived experience with mental illness to support you in navigating your own recovery journey. This team member provides support in areas such as skill building, goal setting, problem solving, and advocacy.
- Family Peer Specialist – Just like our peer specialist, our family peer specialist uses their own experience as a family member of someone who has experienced mental illness to help young adults and their families navigate this often confusing and scary time. They not only provide support to the young people in our program but have a unique and valuable expertise to support family members.
- Psychiatrist – A psychiatrist is a medical doctor that specializes in helping people with mental health issues. If medication is recommended, our psychiatrists work with you to find the lowest possible dose that is still effective. They also are committed to helping you with your physical health goals and well-being.
- Nurse – The nurse assesses and tracks your general physical health and coordinates your primary care needs, as well as heads up our wellness initiatives in the program. In addition, they will closely monitor any side effects if you are on medication.
